I flew to Auckland, New Zealand from Sydney, Australia. I was going to be there for a bit more then a month.
The Aussie's and the Kiwwie's (New Zealanders) are equaly nice and hospitable. Both the Nations are truly outstanding.
To an outsider, the Story of Australia and New Zealand might look the same - Land taken by the British Empire, then Colonized and Westernized...But it isnt so.
Australia, was almost vacant of inhabitants, the Aborijine population was not so great. The Aborijine population didnt put much of a fight against the Colonial Britiain and thus they were disregarded and only in recent years have they been demanding thier rights from the Australian Government.
New Zealand, on the other hand, was more inhabited (especialy if comparing the % of People PER Land in Australia and New Zealand, though we must not forget the simple fact that Australia is a Continent and A LOT BIGGER then New Zealand).
The Maori population in New Zealand had no intention of surrendering to the Brits and gave the Brits a hard fight for the Islands. Eventully peace was achieved and an Exampletory Co-Existance between the "X-European" New Zealanders and the Maori's exists in New Zealand.
In Topography - New Zealand is "riddled" with High Mountains, Green fields and has beutifull Fjord's in the South.
